Eat, Pray, Love
I don't eat pasta often, but every few months or so I'll get a craving for a huge, heaping bowl of pasta complete with a side of garlic bread, a fresh crisp salad and, of course, wine. In fact, one of those cravings just recently came calling and it ended at the bottom of a huge pot of Chicken Alfredo.
I was thinking about hearty, homey meals like pasta when tablescape came into play. It's simple and what I'd like to call...glam rustic. Hear me out --- I'm finding that a simple make-it-work-with-what-you-have aesthetic produces an elegance that comes without trying too hard. With a little sprucing, simple can be quite glam.
I loved using a pitcher instead of a vase, but of course the pitcher is embellished with gold. That's about as rustic as I can be. Hence the term: glam rustic. Stay true to yourself folks.
That feeling of home around that table is what makes dinner more than just a quest for sustenance. It's a spiritual gathering where love is shared and sometimes that means you throw your everyday plates on the table and pass around Grandma's spaghetti along with some laughs.
